Egg-Shall
|A Series of Food Containers Made of Eggshells
These food utensils are made of discarded eggshells.
When we crack an egg, what will we get?
These series are all formed by cutting the exact shape of an egg through different curves. The abundant possibilities are all based on the wonderful construction of the egg itself.
Each material has both values from the physical aspect and the emotional aspect. Combining these two in the most harmonious form is the way how I show respect for each special material.
Global egg production generated about 8.3 million metric tons (MT) of eggshells in 2019, with the most
ending up in the landfill.
As a material that carries life, I firmly believe that there should be more value with eggshells that can be dug out.
This series of sculptural food containers is a tribute to the egg, one of the most incredible structures in nature.
